All Levels Plein Air Painting/Drawing Class with Kathleen Lanzoni

In conjunction with Open Studios' 2024 Boulder County Plein Air Festival

Come join us for an inspirational plein air painting class at Walden Ponds, 5201 St Vrain Rd, Longmont, taught by award-winning artist Kathleen Lanzon. We'll meet at the Cottonwood Marsh Shelter, where you'll get initial instruction from Kathleen, then will select a subject for your painting. There are views of the mountains, flora and marsh, waterfowl and other wildlife - choose what inspires you! Kathleen will stop by each participant often to give encouragement, guidance and tips.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter, this class will help you advance your plein air painting skills in a beautiful outdoor setting. Bring your own easel, drawing board or other support, as well as the art supplies of your choice, along with a camping or stadium chair if desired. You may work in watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pencil, charcoal or markers. Kathleen requests that you bring oil paints only if you have moderate facility working in oil.

Limited to 12 participants, 15 years of age and older. Ages 12 - 14 welcome if accompanied by adult.

$25 fee per participant. Paper, drawing pencils, watercolor paint, and brushes will be provided for an additional $15 charge. Please email us at [email protected] if you need art supplies. You may bring cash or check to the class to pay for supplies.

Following the class, participants are invited to visit the exhibit of art by this year's thirty nine 2024 Boulder County Plein Air competition artists at the Feed & Grain Store Gallery, 291 2nd Avenue in Niwot.
