All five red Bordeaux varietals, their blend, Derek Barnett and more!

Join us for this very special wine tasting that will have the legendary Ontario winemaker Derek Barnett lead us through a tasting of his previous and current vintages. For those of you who don't know Derek, he has been making wine in Ontario for over thirty years, first at Southbrook, then Lailey and now his virtual winery Meldville Wines in addition to being the winemaker for Karlo Estates in Prince Edward County. There will be many highlights to this tasting but the centrepiece will be the opportunity to taste all five Bordeaux varietals (Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot) as individual wines and the sixth wine which is a blend of the five. These six wines are all Lailey Vineyard wines from the spectacular 2012 vintage (therefore prior to Lailey's sale). The wines are all showing very well and are excellent examples of the longevity of Ontario wines from a stellar year, a great vineyard, and skilled winemaking. In addition to these six wines, there will be some Lailey cellar selections from the same time period (when was the last time you had an Impromptu?) as well as some of Derek's current wines from his Meldville Wines winery.
