Year two here we come!! A full day of great music for blues lovers.
Starting at 3pm and leading up to the headline performance at 8pm by The Hogtown Allstars. Built with some of the most experienced players in the global blues music industry, the Hogtown Allstars is headed by Downchild Blues Band alumni Chuck Jackson, Pat Carey, Gary Kendall, Jim Casson and Tyler Yarema with Maple Blues Band alumni Teddy Leonard and Howard Moore. The members of Hogtown Allstars have won more than 20 Maple Blues Awards, 5 Juno Awards and numerous international blues and jazz music awards. Inductees into both the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Blues Museum Hall of Fame in addition to a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Maple Blues Awards, Downchild Blues Band is one of the planet's foremost, most feted, longest-running blues outfits - but add to this members of legendary bands Fathead, Powder Blues, The Cameo Blues Band, David Vest & The Willing Victims, The Swingin Blackjacks, Braithwaite & Whiteley, Johnny Rawls, The Robin Banks Blues Band, The Mighty Duck Blues Band and Lance Anderson's The Last Waltz - and you've got a BLUES SUPERGROUP that cannot be underestimated.
Rob Lutes with Rob MacDonald (3pm)
A masterful finger-style guitarist with an unmistakable, soulful voice, Rob Lutes has steadily built a collection of exquisite songs that inhabit the intersection of blues, folk, and Americana. Multiple Canadian Folk Music nominations and awards, English Songwriter, Contemporary Singer, and Producer of the Year (with Rob MacDonald) along with a Maple Blues Award nomination for Acoustic Act of the Year fill a long list of accolades.
Longtime collaborator, Rob MacDonald is renowned as one of Quebec's finest guitarists and has recorded and performed with a who's who of Quebec roots artists, including Guy Belanger, Dawn Tyler Watson, among many others. After more than two decades playing together, Lutes and MacDonald have developed an ability to blend their two sounds into something unique and intense.
Smoke Wagon Blues Band (4:15pm)
Featuring whisky-stained soul vocals, funky blues harmonica, slick R&B/roots guitar, swinging piano work, soulful organ, riveting saxophone, with a racy, taut rhythm section, The Smoke Wagon Blues Band, in one form or another, has been performing on festival stages for over two decades. Formed in 1996, the band first became crowd favourites in Hamilton, Ontario’s famous Hess Village. Eight independent album releases, international radio play, and a large local fan base propelled the band to venues across the continent. "The Ballad of Albert Johnson" & the groups previous three albums were international hits reaching the top of the Roots Music Report Blues charts and garnering 5-star reviews in blues magazines and blogs.
Al Lerman(5:30pm)
a veteran bluesman with a highly personal style. With a great knowledge of the blues tradition on both harmonica and guitar, he brings that sensibility to songs that are written about his own contemporary life and times. His soulful voice, harp and guitar, coupled with wry and thoughtful songwriting make him an engaging and hypnotic solo performer.  He is considered among the top harmonica players in the country, and he has been heard on countless recordings and live sessions.Lerman was founder/leader of the much-loved band FATHEAD and led them from 1992-2016, garnering two JUNO AWARDS. After years of writing for FATHEAD as well as his own solo recordings, he has amassed an impressive legacy of songs. He is also currently a long time member of the renowned Maple Blues Band, who recently released their all instrumental album "Let's Go" on Cordova Bay Records.
Durham County Poets(6:30pm)
Durham County Poets are a band in the truest sense of the word and have seen their popularity and reputation grow with each passing year. They present an authentic contemporary blend of Blues, Soul-folk, R&B and Gospel! Nominations include several Maple Blues Awards, a Canadian Folk Music Award, Male vocalist of the year. And a Juno Award nomination for their 2019 release of (Hand me down Blues). Their 2022 release of (Out of the Woods) garnered much attention with top 40 top 20, top 10 best album of the year list for that year. And Now. For The Record, starting mid 2024, the band has been working tirelessly on an a new “self produced”project to be released in the fall of 2025. So keep your eyes and ears open.
