Help us name our lions!
Flower Library’s two marble lion statues were added to the building in June of 1905, courtesy of the library’s generous benefactor Emma Flower Taylor. These white stone figures were placed at the front door to guard the entrance and came from Italy. Over the years, the lions have needed repairs, including correcting broken teeth, repairing injuries caused by fallen maple trees in 1925, and reattaching a lost tail in 1982.
We’d like to add 2024 to the list of milestone years for our library lions, and we need your help to do so! Join us for our Lion Naming Contest!
Contest is open May 1 to May 31.
Open to all ages. 1 entry per person.
To enter, fill our a paper ticket at the table on the main floor of the library.
Staff will vote on the winner, who will be announced in early June.
