Come learn all about trees for Montgomery County from Texas A&M District Forester Ben Plunkett. Ben Plunkett, a graduate of Texas A&M University, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Resource Management and Rangeland Ecology and Management. Ben has worked for the Texas A&M Forest Service for 15 years, serving in the Conroe District, Jasper District, and is currently the District Forester for the Huntsville District. Due to the diverse nature of the districts that he has served in, he has a strong background in rural/traditional forestry, urban forestry, and wildfire prevention and management. Ben will cover multiple topics on trees, including proper tree selection, planting technique, watering, soil, mulching, fertilizing and pruning will be covered. He will also talk about issues related to construction as well as tree roots and how to deal with them.
