How to build long-term resilience in the body without depleting ecosystems
About this Event

Adaptogens are the “Next Big Thing” in herbalism -- and they truly are wonderful! Herbs that help us regulate our stress response over the long term -- who doesn’t need that? However, more is not necessarily better and many adaptogens are endangered and overharvested. By selecting the appropriate adaptogens for our constitution and bioregion we can be more effective in regulating our stress response and connect our own health to the larger health of our ecosystem.
In this class we’ll learn how to figure out what adaptogens are right for our body’s needs, how to effectively extract them, and info on safety and dosage. Come prepared to taste and learn about many different adaptogens and leave with the tools to choose a blend specifically formulated for your body!

Ticket Info

Sliding Scale Guide ($15–$25):

  • $30 (Standard): You can comfortably meet your basic needs, have steady income, and may have expendable funds for savings, travel, or non-essentials. Paying at this level helps sustain access for others.
  • $20 (Reduced): You can usually meet your basic needs but may feel occasional financial stress. You have some expendable income and may buy new items or take occasional time off.
  • $10 (Reduced-est): Meeting basic needs is often a source of stress, and you have little to no expendable income. Paying at this level makes the class more accessible.

    Bio
Mo Katz-Christy (they/them) is a queer Ashkenazi Jewish clinical herbalist and educator in Boston, MA on unceded Massachusett land. They approach herbalism by connecting folks to the knowledge they already have about their body and herbs through working with kitchen medicine, ancestral traditions, and mulberries falling on the sidewalk!
Mo teaches herb classes and programs at over 40 different sites in New England. They work one-on-one with clients, in Somerville and virtually, to address the root imbalances that are causing dysregulation and to promote long-term healing, focusing on gut health. You can find out more about their work at mokatzchristy.com.
