Why It Matters
This session is designed to remind and empower individuals to take small, impactful steps toward a more vibrant, self-sustainable lifestyle. It centers around foods and methods that are accessible, affordable, and aligned with nature. This session shows us that both animal consumption and highly processed store bought “foods” are unnecessary on a variety of levels. We are all individuals on our life journey, and the increase of pharmaceutical propaganda, social media "influencers" and colonialism, has made it harder for us to find our own rhythm and flow with nature, to make and maintain conscious decisions on proper ways to nourish ourselve.
About the Facilitator
RA, also known as RADIUS, is the creator of RA’s Natural Abundance, a lifestyle practice rooted in alignment with the body, nature, and ancestral rhythms. A lifelong student and international culturally-minded traveler, RA is a Interdisciplinary creative; music producer, live performer, DJ, event coordinator, photographer, and food activist, raised within various Chicago neighborhoods, Most notably the south side navigating from an early age, through the struggles of food apartheid.
His work is grounded in the philosophy that less is more, that food is medicine, and that we thrive when we connect deeper to nature’s toroidal flow of energy and abundance. With a passion for wholistic health, fasting/detoxing modalities, food science and history, and food combining essentials, RA connects deeply with indigenous cultures and practices, through his directly-Immersed, community oriented and often nomadic lifestyle.
In 2021, RA received certification in ethical raw gourmet cuisine, from world-renowned teacher, wholistic food scientist, pioneer and creator of Sun-Fired Cuisine; Dr. Aris Latham in Panama. He’s also briefly studied prepaeing plant-oriented indigenous dishes in Oaxaca, Mexico, and supported and co-facilitated the launch of a vegetarian café/gallery with one of his best friends/collaborators, in Silver City, New Mexico, where he incorporated a variety of clean cooked and live/raw cuisine elements as its head chef.
RA’s initial spark was growing up, having an interest for being in the kitchen with his family elders preparing meals, and gravitating soon after, with healing herbal encyclopedias. His offerings have been featured in yoga studio popups, music festivals, and restaurant residencies. Through RA’s Natural Abundance, RA aspires to inspire communities to reconnect with self, and ultimately nature, to heal themselves, and their loved ones.
