Alien Disko are stripping it back to the dark and gritty realms of Drum & Bass at The Bongo Club on Friday 29th May, with special guest Gifta (Phase Records).DJ, producer, label owner and primary school teacher. Is there anything Gifta doesn’t do? A true powerhouse both on and off the decks, she’s known for her dynamic energy and innovative approach to Drum & Bass.
Inspired by the underground, her production fuses rolling drum patterns with minimal jump-up influences while her DJ sets are described as unapologetic and relentless. Few can match the fire she brings her style, selection and passion.
She also founded Phase Records DNB, a label celebrated for pushing the values of Drum & Bass and dedicated to championing the sounds she loves. Phase is recognised as a vibrant hub for fresh, boundary-pushing music and is a home not just for her core artists but also for established names.
Her work is not just for her own imprint. Her tunes can also be found on the likes of DeVice, Tres-2b and Trust Audio and frequently collaborates with Hospital Records, RUN and Overview.
With endless drive and an unmistakable presence, Gifta is carving out her place as a formidable force in the global D&B scene.
Alongside the Phase Records DNB boss, we have the label's resident Ominous going b2b with Glasgow's own junglist Sol, Pray to Good's head honcho Bristol Luke making his Bongo debut, plus the legendary MC jurnalist on hosting duties for the night!
