The Alianța Summit & Gala returns to Washington, DC, on December 3 and 4, 2026, bringing together leaders from government, business, academia, and the Romanian-American community to celebrate and strengthen the strategic partnership between the United States and Romania. The event will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel located at 2800 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC.
This annual gathering recognizes individuals whose leadership and contributions have advanced the relationship between the two countries. This year’s event will honor several distinguished leaders: Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Jim Risch will receive the Transatlantic Leadership Award in recognition of their bipartisan leadership and commitment to strengthening U.S.–Romania relations and transatlantic security; Senator Lindsey Graham, who passed away in July 2026, will be posthumously honored with the Defender of Democracy Award. His sister, Senator Darline Graham, will accept the award on his behalf; Nadia Comăneci, the legendary gymnast who made Olympic history at the 1976 Montreal Games, will receive the Global Icon Award. The award will be presented by tennis legend and businessman Ion Țiriac.
The Alianța Gala will take place on Thursday, December 3, beginning with guest check-in and cocktails at 5:30 PM, followed by the awards ceremony and dinner program at 7:00 PM. The evening will conclude with an after-party.
On Friday, December 4, the Alianța Summit will bring together experts and decision-makers for discussions on three key areas of the U.S.–Romania partnership: Economy, Energy and Finance (9:30 AM), Defense (11:00 AM), and Black Sea and Regional Security (1:30 PM). The conversations will explore opportunities for investment and innovation, shared security priorities, and the importance of regional stability and transatlantic cooperation.
Registration is by application. Those interested in attending are invited to submit an application through the event website. Following review, Alianța will contact approved applicants with a private link to purchase tickets. There is no payment required when submitting the application.
