About this Event

Friday, April 10th
12 - 1 PM
Room 730 @ Pfizer building 7th floor
We are pleased to welcome Ali Van Gödil, a designer, artist, and founder of House of Gül, who will share insights from his career and perspectives on creative practice.
Ali Van Godil is a designer, artist, creative director, and filmmaker working between Oregon and New York. He is the founder of House of Gül, a multidisciplinary creative studio and artistic practice that operates across commercial commissions and independent collaborations.
Van Godil has led creative projects for a wide range of clients, including Nike, Adobe, Netflix, and Facebook, as well as regional and international nonprofit organizations and cultural institutions. His work moves fluidly across art, design, and film, bringing a distinct visual and conceptual sensibility to both brand and cultural contexts.
His practice explores the emotional and spiritual dimensions of belonging, examining how memory, migration, landscape, and sacred tradition shape identity and inner life. Rooted in a Pakistani upbringing and informed by Islamic and Indian spiritual philosophy, his work reflects an ongoing dialogue between body and spirit, tradition and transformation.
