About the Comedians

Mina Liccione is a multi-award-winning performing artist and comedian originally from New York. She's been seen in STOMP, MTV's The Grind and Ridiculousness, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, National Lampoon's film Pucked, and all three Seasons of "Comedy Central Presents..."

Mina filmed her 1-hour stand-up comedy special entitled "Mina Liccione: Araby By Nature" in 2017 and her second special can be seen on Comedy Central as part of the Mena W Fena Series. She is currently starring on the series Stand-up Sketch Sow streaming on Shahid MBC.

In 2008, she took a leap of faith and moved to Dubai to co-found Dubomedy Arts with her now husband Ali Al Sayed which is home to the Region’s first Comedy School and all-female troupe; Funny Girls MENA. Mina has been coined "The UAE's Queen of Comedy" and is extremely passionate about using comedy as a tool to break stereotypes and bring together people from diverse backgrounds. The comedy duo also founded the Clowns Who Care Project whose mission is to bring art and joy to orphanages, refugee camps and children’s hospitals.

Last year she premiered her new one-woman multimedia show Growing Up Ringside to rave reviews at the Dubai Comedy Festival, ROC New York Fringe Festival and Edinburgh Fringe. Dubai's Ali Al Sayed started writing, performing and producing comedy in 2008. His lightning fast wit and rapport with audiences has allowed him to perform in numerous shows at the iconic Comic Strip Live in New York and The Comedy Cellar – Headlining in Caroline's on Broadway and Top Secret Comedy in London, the New York Arab American Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has taken the stage alongside the likes of Maz Jobrani, Omid Djalili, and Steve Harvey, to name a few.

He's had featured Specials on PBS, CBS, BBC World, articles in New York Times, and classed as "Funniest People of the Year" by Rolling Stone. He can currently be seen on Comedy Central's Ridiculousness, co-hosting Comedy Central Presents..., the series Stand-up Sketch Sow streaming on Shahid MBC and was awarded "Comedian of the Year" by Esquire Magazine.

As the Co-founder of Dubomedy, who do "everything comedy", Ali co-started the first comedy school in the region with his wife Mina, introducing Stand-Up Comedy from an Arab perspective and paving the way for many young comedians.
