Topic: "Made for Each Other: The Case for Complementarity"Talk Description:
Catholics believe that marriage is fulfilling because human persons are designed to exist in loving communion. But because men and women are not replicas of one another, they do not tend to express love in identical ways. Using insights from Edith Stein (a.k.a. "St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross"), Mary will examine the sexual complementarity of the masculine and the feminine and the ways in which the natural gifts of couples prepare them for a truly fruitful union.
Speaker Bio:
Mary Stanford, author of The Obedience Paradox: Finding True Freedom in Marriage, is a speaker, teacher, and writer on Catholic marriage and family life. She is an adjunct professor at Christendom College and holds degrees from the University of Dallas and the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family. She and her husband Trey are the parents of seven children.
