This party is the kick-off to our fundraising season of pysanky (Ukrainian egg) sales and classes, and proceeds from both will go to the Mountain Seed Foundation, raising money to help Ukrainian families. There will be hors d'oeuvres, drinks, pysanky demonstrations, and eggs for sale — plus, Made in ALX will donate 10% of all sales during this event to the fundraiser.

What's a pysanka?
A pysanka is an intricately decorated Ukrainian Easter egg — an art and tradition passed down through generations, recognized on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Made using a wax resist method, this ancient folk art has been passed down through generations. According to legend, there is an evil monster bound to a mountain with chains of pysanky, and the more pysanky that are created each year, the tighter the monster's chains, reigning in evil from the world.
What is Mountain Seed Foundation?
The Mountain Seed Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides healing to children and families through psychoeducational modules and nature-based activities based on the principles of positive psychology. Mountain-climbing and art therapy empower participants to cultivate their inner strengths, resilience, positive emotions, relationships and discover a sense of purpose. With this program, participants can overcome the devastating effects of war.
