"It is a global project that encompasses the entire world. The mechanical 360-degree fixation of reality is a new description of the world. At the same time, it is a strange world, where we walk around without leaving the house.
I am interested in the impersonal fixation of the world on the one hand and, on the other hand, in placing the artist at the centre of digital space. The characters in the works are impersonal, unrecognisable, their faces erased. The world as a reality independent of the subject's position, understanding, and perception.
Google Maps as a new pop-archetype. Ease of movement, an ideal parallel space, unfamiliar with the obstacles and difficulties of reality. Somewhere in this world, there are human feelings, someplace deep in the digital space that encompasses, describes, and registers the whole world. The digital space full of human emotions and empathy. The sculptures are part of the installation, organically complementing the paintings," Alexander Vinogradov reveals the idea behind the exhibition.
Alexander Vinogradov was born 1963 in Moscow, studied in the Moscow State Art Institute named Surikov (1990-95). Vinogradov lives and works both in Moscow and Milan.
In 1994 he started to collaborate with an artist Vladimir Dubossarsky.
Their intense and productive cooperation lasted 21 years (1994-2015) and had created instantly recognizable images of both the “naughty’ nineties and the stable noughties. Over the past two decades the collective unconscious of Post-Soviet society has appeared in the works of these two artists. They were called “the artists of a generation”.
After a show “Urgent Painting” at Hotel de la Ville de Paris, 2002, their “Dejeuner sur l’herbe” was acquitted by Center Georges Pompidou, Paris. The artistic duo participated in the Venice Biennale in 2003, at the Russian Pavilion with the “Returning of the Artist” group show.
In the same year Jeffrey Deitch invited the artists to make a solo show at his New York gallery, Deitch Projects, so they realised “Our Best World”,2003.
In 2005 was “StarZ” - a group show at Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MOMMA).
In 2005-2006 artists took part in a fundamental exhibition of Russian Artists “RUSSIA!” at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
In 2008 was the second solo show “The New People Are Already Here” at Deitch Projects in New York. The second participation in 53rd Venice Biennale was in 2009 with “Danger ! Museum'' solo show. In 2013 a project “Painters of Russian Life” was realised in Kunsthal KAdE Amersfoort, Nederlands.
Since 2015 Alexander Vinogradov works as an independent artist, the latest solo shows of the artist:

"Это глобальный проект, охватывающий весь мир. Механическая фиксация реальности на 360’ градусов – это новое описание мира. Одновременно, это сам по себе странный мир, где мы гуляем, не выходя из дома.
Меня интересует обезличенная фиксация мира с одной стороны и, с другой - помещение художника в центр цифрового пространства. Персонажи работ обезличены, неузнаваемы, их лица стёрты. Мир – как реальность, не зависящая от позиции, понимания и восприятия субъекта.
Google Maps – как новый поп-архетип. Лёгкость перемещения, идеальное параллельное пространство, не знакомое с преградами и трудностями реальности. Где-то в этом мире существуют человеческие чувства, где-то глубоко в цифровом пространстве,охватывающем, описывающем, регистрирующем весь мир. Цифровое пространство, наполненное человеческими эмоциями, эмпатией. Скульптуры – часть инсталляции, органично дополняющая картины," Александр Виноградов раскрывает идею выставки.
Александр Виноградов родился в 1963 году в Москве и в 1990-95 годах учился в Московском государственном художественном институте имени Сурикова. Он живет и работает как в Москве, так и в Милане.
В 1994 году Виноградов начал работать с художником Владимиром Дубосарским.
Между ними сложилось интенсивное и продуктивное сотрудничество, которое продолжалось 21 год (1994-2015). За это время были созданы работы, представляющие как "озорные" образы 1990-х, так и стабильные образы 2000-х. В последние два десятилетия в работах этих двух художников проявилось коллективное бессознательное постсоветского общества. Они заслужили звание "художников поколения".
В 2002 году после выставки "Urgent Painting" в Hotel de la Ville de Paris их работа "Dejeuner sur l’herbe" была приобретена Центром Жоржа Помпиду в Париже. В 2003 году дуэт участвовал в Венецианской биеннале в Российском павильоне с групповой выставкой "Returning of the Artist".
В том же году Джеффри Дейч пригласил художников провести персональную выставку в своей нью-йоркской галерее Deitch Projects, где они реализовали экспозицию "Our Best World" (2003).
В 2005 году в Московском музее современного искусства (MMOMA) прошла групповая выставка “StarZ”.
В 2005-2006 годах дуэт участвовал в фундаментальной выставке российских художников "RUSSIA!" в Музее Соломона Гуггенхайма в Нью-Йорке.
В 2008 году в Deitch Projects в Нью-Йорке прошла их вторая персональная выставка "The New People Are Already Here". В 2009 году они приняли участие в 53-й Венецианской биеннале с персональной выставкой “Danger!” В 2013 году проект "Painters of Russian Life" был реализован в Kunsthal KAdE в Амерсфорте, Нидерланды.
С 2015 года Александр Виноградов работает как независимый художник, его последние персональные выставки:

Aleksandrs Vinogradovs dzimis 1963. gadā Maskavā, 1990.-95. gadā studējis Surikova Maskavas Valsts mākslas institūtā. Dzīvo un strādā gan Maskavā, gan Milānā.
1994. gadā Vinogradovs uzsāka sadarbību ar mākslinieku Vladimiru Dubosarski. Abu starpā noformējās intensīva un produktīva koprade, kas ilga 21 gadu (1994-2015). Šajā periodā tapa darbi, kas uzrādīja gan "nerātnos" deviņdesmito, gan stabilos divtūkstošo gadu tēlus. Pēdējās divās desmitgadēs šo abu mākslinieku darbos parādījās postpadomju sabiedrības kolektīvā neapziņa. Viņi iemantoja "the artists of a generation" titulu.
Pēc izstādes "Urgent Painting" Hotel de la Ville de Paris 2002. gadā viņu darbu "Dejeuner sur l’herbe" iegādājās Žorža Pompidū centrs Parīzē. Ar grupas izstādi "Returning of the Artist" 2003.gadā mākslinieku duets piedalījās Venēcijas biennālēs Krievijas paviljonā.
Tajā pašā gadā Džefrijs Deičs uzaicināja māksliniekus rīkot personālizstādi savā Ņujorkas galerijā “Deitch Projects”, kur viņi īstenoja izstādi "Our Best World" (2003).
2005. gadā Maskavas Modernās mākslas muzejā (MOMMA) notika grupas izstāde "StarZ".
2005.-2006. gadā duets piedalījās fundamentālā krievu mākslinieku izstādē "RUSSIA!" Solomon R. Guggenheim muzejā Ņujorkā.
2008. gadā “Deitch Projects” Ņujorkā norisinājās abu otrā personālizstāde "The New People Are Already Here". Savukārt 2009. gadā mākslinieki piedalījās 53.
