Celebrate Women in Jazz with the Alex Sjobeck Trio

Join us for an unforgettable Women’s History Month performance with pianist and composer Alex Sjobeck's all women jazz trio. Alex’s album Pictures in Time was included on the GRAMMY Awards Nominating Ballot, she was selected for the 2023 Jazz Education Network Young Composers Showcase in Orlando, and her music has been featured on PBS. She has also composed for acclaimed short films including Silhouette and Butter Lover, which has over 13 million views on YouTube.

Joining Alex are two dynamic Los Angeles-based musicians:

• Sophia Augustine – A versatile bassist who has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival and recorded with artists like Lana Drincic.
• Jackie Rush – A skilled drummer and educator, bringing rich groove and energy to the trio's performances.

The evening also features Dr. Derek Ganong, trumpet virtuoso and Director of Jazz Studies at Boise State University.

Opening the night is the Gene Harris All Stars, an exceptional group of high school musicians recognized with the 2025 Boise City Mayor's Award for Excellence in Education.

This rate is available for the night of the Sapphire Room show and includes a standard hotel room (double occupancy) and breakfast for two the following morning.
