Alex Fam Album Release Concert & Restorative Yoga

Join us for an intimate and unique album release experience in a gorgeous space. You will be invited to slow down, relax, and tune into your inner landscape through restorative yoga poses accompanied by live, improvised music. After the movement portion, the space will softly transform into a cozy, living-room-style concert for a close-up performance of Alex Fam's new album, Beautiful Thing, brought to life by a 4-person ensemble.

Space is limited to preserve the intimacy of the event.

Please come on time. Doors will be closed shortly after 7:00pm.

Bring a yoga mat! If you don't have one, there will be some available to rent.

Alex Fam is a singer-songwriter, artist, and playwright. Known for her playful spirit and musical gifts as a singer and violinist, Alex has performed around New England often including collaboration across artistic disciplines (eg. dance, visual art, theater). Alex is releasing her third album this March 2026. You can listen to her music here or wherever you find music.

Q: Alex, I don't know how to do yoga....can I come just for the concert part and skip the yoga?

A: In order to carry the energetic space of calm and embodiment generated from the restorative yoga portion into the concert, we will not be admitting people only for the concert portion. But no yoga experience is required!

Restorative yoga (i.e. staying in simple, mainly reclined poses for several minutes) has been a beautiful thing in my life to get in touch with my feelings and body. I'd love to share that with you and trust me, it's going to be very simple - like "lie on your back", "stretch slightly to the side"... Also, everything is optional so you could just sit or lie on your back the whole time while taking in the improvised music.

Q: Will there be any chairs?

A: We will have some chairs, but most seating will be on the floor with cushions, blankets, mats.

Q: Alex, what is special about this album?

A: This is my third album and different from my previous two in that many of the songs are more vulnerable. They are thoughtful, sad, hopeful, full of love - a spectrum of experiencing life fully. For this concert, I will have multiple string players and harmony vocalists as part of my band to bring it the songs to life in their full beauty. All the musicians joining me are incredible professionals and experienced improvisers so both portions of the evening will be really BEAUTIFUL.

Q: What's the parking situation?

A: There is visitor street parking along Highland Ave (unmetered, but some metered closer to Davis Square)

Q: What should I wear?

A: Something comfortable and cozy. Probably not your tight leather pants even if you do look amazing in them.
