About this Event

As the birthplace of lager, it’s hard to overstate the importance this region has had on brewing culture and history. We will spend some time discussing the German lager brewing tradition and the wide range of beers that fall under that umbrella such as German Pilsner, Marzen, Doppelbock, Rauchbier, and Schwarzbier. Additionally, we will explore German Weiss beer and touch on two sour styles originating in the region: Gose and Berliner Weisse.

The class is $30 to attend and includes educational presentation, handouts, and a guided beer tasting. All attendees must be 21+ years old to attend. This class is led by Alewife Co-Owner Kelly Pickard, Certified Cicerone®. Tickets are non-refundable.
