Thank you for joining us for a unique, immersive experience: “Alchemy of Light,” an art and mindfulness ritual designed to connect with your essence through fire, air, water, and earth.
Under the expert guidance of glass artist and industrial designer Cecilym Valera, you will explore the art of lampworking in an incomparable historic setting: Oaklands Mansion Cottage.
What will you experience?
No prior experience is required. During this 3-hour immersive experience, we will guide you through an alchemical journey where you will get hands-on with a professional torch. You will learn the fundamentals of the craft as you hand-craft 3 to 5 basic glass beads, giving you a meaningful introduction to the art of flame-working. We will culminate the process by integrating your unique creations onto a pre-crafted glass candle holder, allowing you to design a final piece that illuminates your home with your own intention.
To navigate this creative process, we have structured our time together as a ritual, moving through the five universal elements:
• Earth: Connection with materials and design.
• Fire: Creation of 3 to 5 personalized beads at professional torch stations.
• Air: Gourmet integration break.
• Water: Purification ritual and assembly of your work.
• Ether: Final activation of your piece with light and purpose.

• Footwear: Closed-toe shoes are mandatory (no sandals or open-toed shoes).
• Clothing: It is recommended to wear clothing made of natural fibers (cotton, wool, linen). For safety reasons, the use of synthetic materials (polyester, nylon, etc.) near the fire stations is not permitted.
• Hair: Long hair must be tied back securely to prevent contact with the torch flame.
