On Saturday, April 18, Newton Baroque presents a concert centered on the remarkable English Baroque organ at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Sudbury. One of the only instruments of its kind in North America, this organ reveals the unique colors and character of English Baroque music, repertoire that is rarely heard as intended. Its distinctive design brings new life to works by Henry Purcell, William Croft, and John Blow.
The English organ also shines as an accompanying instrument. Oboist Alison Gangler joins Andrus Madsen for sonatas by George Frideric Handel and Robert Valentine.
Join us for this rare and vibrant musical experience.
