Watch art come to life in real time with a live painting demonstration by a renowned local artist, McKenna Prather, while enjoying live music from Rozsa Arts musicians at the Library. Rozsa Arts at the Library is generously supported by Mary Rozsa de Coquet.
McKenna Prather is a Calgary-based visual artist known for her vibrant paintings of landscapes, wildlife, and still life. A graduate of Alberta University of the Arts, she has worked as a full-time artist since 2019 and is represented by Gibson Fine Art and Gust Gallery. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes and changing seasons of Alberta and Newfoundland, McKenna combines acrylic painting with hand-painted patterns and hand-stitched embroidery, creating richly textured works that bridge contemporary painting with textile and folk-art traditions. Her work is influenced by a family of makers and artisans and celebrates the beauty, familiarity, and sense of home found in the natural world and everyday life.
