Albany Park East Walking Tour
About this Event
REGISTRATION AVAILABLE BEGINNING AUGUST 2ND
Join Chicago for Chicagoans' founder and longtime neighborhood resident Patti Swanson for a one-of-a-kind Albany Park ten year anniversary tour!
Beginning at the Francisco Brown Line station, we'll explore the history, landmarks, and architecture of one of the city's most brilliantly diverse neighborhoods. See quaint rows of bungalows and other vernacular treasures, admire ornate public schools, fieldhouses and vintage storefronts, discover the rich history of our local businesses and nonprofit organizations, and learn stories of the area's humble beginnings and the tapestry of immigrants that have created the neighborhood we love today.
The tour will wind through the eastern part of the neighborhood, ending at Kimball Brown Line station. Participants are encouraged to stay & enjoy a beverage afterwards at Nighthawk.
Chicago for Chicagoans happily exists as a "pay-what-you-can" tour service. A suggested tip of $10-20 per person is always appreciated, but reviewing us on Yelp, liking us on Facebook, spreading the word, and attending future tours tells us how much you love us too! We are a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates inclusive walking tours by & for Chicago residents, designed to represent the histories of all Chicagoans. Donate online fee-free at chicagoforchicagoans.org.
