From acclaimed directors David and Nathan Zellner (KUMIKO: THE TREASURE HUNTER) comes the story of a family we can all relate to, aside from the fact that they’re Sasquatches. SASQUATCH SUNSET follows these four wood apes across an absurdist, epic, hilarious, and ultimately poignant journey over the course of one year. Like any family, they’ll fight, they’ll laugh, they’ll trip super hard on some questionable berries, and they’ll do it all without a single line of dialogue (unless you count grunts and yells).
If you’re looking for an outrageous comedy filled with gross-out humor and laugh-out-loud moments, you’ll find that in SASQUATCH SUNSET, but you’ll also find so, so much more. The Zellners have managed to tell a deeply affecting story of isolation, yearning, and the state of our natural world while also giving you a clearer picture of Bigfoot bodily functions than you ever thought you needed (but you definitely do). Much of that is due to the performances from the unrecognizable cast, including Riley Keogh, Jesse Eisenberg, director Nathan Zellner, and Christophe Zajac-Denek. Even through many layers of Sasquatch makeup, they manage to deliver performances that are deeply human, even when they’re going literally apesh*t in the woods.
