AUB Neighborhood Initiative and Al Madina Theatre in this Christmas and New Year season jointly present Al Jar Lil Jar, music and song performances to re-enliven Ras Beirut. (11-29 December 2021)We planned an inclusive joyful program to re-enliven Ras Beirut this festive season: A Christmas Parade with children from private and public neighborhood schools animated by three street performances featuring young Palestinian and Syrian refugee musicians as well as a group of migrant workers; and seven concerts by great local choirs, bands, singers and performers ranging from established to young upcoming faces. We are livestreaming on a huge screen so every passerby on Hamra Street can enjoy the concerts and on AUB YouTube Channel to reach the widest audience possible in Lebanon and abroad.

We hope to create positive vibes and to spread the joyful Christmas spirit in our Ras Beirut neighborhood despite the stressful conditions that people are suffering from in Lebanon today.
At Al Madina Theatre, for all concerts, we will be following strict COVID regulations: Only 50% of the theater capacity is used (200 seats), masks are obligatory inside the theater, and Rentokil-Boecker have kindly offered to sanitize the theater before every concert.
مبادرة حسن الجوار في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت ومسرح المدينة، في هذه الأيام الميلاديَة وعلى أبواب السنة الجديدة، يجتمعان لتقديم الجار للجار، أمسيات موسيقى وغناء لَتِتْرَوْحَنْ راس بيروت.(11-29 كانون الأول 2021)
برنامج ممتع ودامج لإعادة إحياء رأس بيروت في موسم الأعياد هذا: عرض عيد الميلاد مع أطفال من مدارس رأس بيروت الخاصة والعامة تتخلّله ثلاثة عروض في شارع الحمراء لموسيقيين صغار من اللاجئين الفلسطينيين والسوريين بالإضافة إلى مجموعة من العاملات الأجنبيات؛ وسبع حفلات موسيقية لفرق ومغنيين وممثلين محليين رائعين بدءًا من الوجوه الراسخة إلى الوجوه الشّابة الواعدة. ستبثّ جميع الحفلات على شاشة ضخمة أمام مسرح المدينة ليتمكن كل من يمر في شارع الحمراء من الاستمتاع بالموسيقى والغناء، وعلى قناة اليوتيوب في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت للوصول إلى أوسع جمهور ممكن في لبنان والخارج.

نأمل أن نخلق أجواء إيجابية وأن ننشر روح البهجة والفرح على أبواب عيد الميلاد في رأس بيروت على الرغم من الظروف الصعبة التي يعاني منها الناس في لبنان اليوم.
في مسرح المدينة، بالنسبة لجميع الحفلات، سوف نتبع تعليمات لجنة وباء كورونا الصّارمة: الالتزام بخمسين بالمئة من القدرة الإستيعابية للمسرح (مئتي مقعد فقط) ، إلزامية الأقنعة داخل المسرح، وقد تقدّمت شركة رنتوكيل-بويكر مشكورة بتعقيم المسرح قبل كل الحفلات الموسيقية.

يوسف أبو حمد (غناء وبيانو)، ليلي أبو حمد (غناء)، جمال أبو حمد (غناء)، بالإشتراك مع الموسيقيين هيسم إزرافيل (أكورديون) و إيلي يمّوني (رق).
تأسست فرقة "رند" اللبنانية في عام ٢٠١٣، وهي مؤلفة من الأشقاء: يوسف وليلي وجمال أبو حمد. درس الثلاثي في المعهد العالي الوطني للموسيقى وهم الآن يستثمرون معرفتهم في خلق تجربة فريدة من نوعها تمزج بين الصوت والبيانو لأداء أعمال كلاسيكية شرقية وغربية، إضافة إلى أعمال خاصة بهم. سيتضمن الحفل أغنيات "رند" الأصلية وأغنيات لبنانية خالدة بالإشتراك مع الموسيقيين هيسم إزرافيل (أكورديون) وإيلي
يموني (رق).
RAND is a Lebanese musical band formed in 2013 by three siblings: Youssef, Lili, and Jamale Abou Hamad. Building on their studies at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, they create a unique acoustic sound with piano and vocals performing oriental and occidental classics, along with original songs. The concert will feature RAND's original songs and timeless Lebanese oldies. The band will be accompanied by Haissam Izrafil (Accordion) and Elie Yammouni (Riq).
