About this Event

Ambassador and icon of Italy, Al Bano (pseudonym Albano Carrisi,) is a legend in Italian music. He will perform all the great hits that led to his success and won the hearts of millions all over the world. Featuring Special Guests Romina Perri & The Italian Tenor Pasquale Esposito.

He was born in the town of Cellino San Marco (province of Brindisi, Apulia in Southern Italy), where he still lives.

His mother named him Albano because, when he was born, his father was fighting in Albania for the Italian Army during World War II.

He made his debut in 1966 both as a singer, at the Festivaldelle Rose, and on television. He won the Disco per l'Estate, an Italian song contest, with Pensando a te in 1968. He recorded some major hits such as La siepe and Nelsole at that time.

He married Romina Power (daughter of the American actor Tyrone Power), who had already started to share her musical career with him on July 26th, 1970. That year, Al Bano and Romina Power also recored Storia di due innamorati.

Together they have sung as the duo Al Bano & Romina Power for almost thirty years and are popular in Italy and Germany.

Al Bano returned to his solo career in 1996 with È la mia vita which was followed by Verso il sole in 1997 and Ancora in solo in 1999.

He also starred in the Italian reality show L’isola dei Famosi (Italian version of Celebrity Survivor) with her daughter, Romina Carrisi in 2005. Al Bano returned to Sanremo in 2007. He sang Nel Perdono which came in second place. Al Bano still tours all over the world and his music is loved throughout the world. To date Al Bano has sold 165 million albums around the world.

FAQs

What's the current COVID-19 vaccination and mask policy?

The Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, in accordance with the San Francisco Department of Public Health, is requiring all ticket holders age 12 and up to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to wear a mask at all times while inside the building. “Fully vaccinated” means that all ticket holders have had their final dose of the vaccine at least 14 days prior to the performance. Our goal is to provide the safest space possible for patrons, performers, crew and staff as we open our doors.

Patrons under the age of 12 must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time, OR a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time. COVID antibody tests are not accepted for theatre entry. Negative tests are ONLY accepted for patrons under the age of 12.

To enter the theatre, please bring a photo ID and proof of vaccination, either your physical vaccination card, a picture of your vaccination card, or a digital vaccination record. All California residents may request a digital vaccination record at MyVaccineRecord.cdph.ca.gov. Those under 12 must present the negative test results of a COVID PCR test taken within 72 hours of scheduled performance or a negative COVID antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time.

Masks are required for all patrons over the age of two, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must be worn at all times, except when actively eating or drinking in designated areas. Prolonged periods of mask removal are not permitted for eating or drinking—masks must be worn between bites and sips.

For those under 12 who will be showing proof of a negative COVID antigen test taken within 6 hours of performance, please bring a digital photo of your results. Do not bring the test sample with you to the theatre. Upon entry to the theatre, you will be asked for the time/date-stamped photo of the result.

What's the refund policy?

All ticket sales are final.

My assigned seats appear to be only even or odd numbers. Will my seats be together?

Our theatre seats are numbered even on the left side, odd on the right side, so seats together will be consecutively even or odd. To review the theatre map, please visit our website at: https://palaceoffinearts.org/seating-chart/.

What about parking?

Parking is available along Palace Drive on a first come, first serve basis. We strongly recommend arriving 20-30 minutes before showtime to allow time for parking.
