Join us for a gentle 2-mi kayaking journey down the Cuyahoga River with kayaks provided by our friends at Cuyahoga Valley Adventures. This section of the river is short, slightly more than 2-miles, so it's great for newbies or fun for everybody! It's a very calm section filled with wildlife, big trees, and birds. We will meet at CVA 5PM and then shuttle to the Valley View area to launch our kayals. Please note that this is not a guided adventure but rather we are renting kayaks and going down as a group.
We will meet at 1570 Akron Peninsula Rd, Akron, OH 44313 (we are NOT meeting at Valley View). We will do yoga and then CVA will shuttle us to the starting point at Valley View so that we will end our paddle at the parking lot with our cars.

What to Bring for Kayaking
Weather-appropriate clothing that is moisture-wicking and quick-drying.
Sturdy, secured footwear to ensure safety during your excursion.
Opt for reusable drink and snack containers; we prohibit single-use items such as plastic bottles, plastic bags, and snack bags.
Bring along some cash if you wish to purchase merchandise during your trip.
More details on how to prepare for your adventure:
Quick-drying clothing: Opt for synthetic materials like polyester or nylon that dry quickly. Avoid cotton as it tends to stay wet and can make you feel cold and uncomfortable.
Moisture-wicking base layers: Wear a moisture-wicking base layer to keep sweat away from your skin, helping you stay dry and comfortable throughout your kayak trip.
Sun protection: Since you'll be out on the water, it's crucial to protect yourself from the sun's harmful UV rays. Consider wearing a lightweight, long-sleeved shirt and pants to cover your skin.
Water shoes or sandals: Choose footwear that can get wet and provide good traction on slippery surfaces. Water shoes or sandals with straps are ideal for kayaking as they stay secure on your feet.
Windbreaker or light jacket: Even in warmer months, the weather can change quickly, and wind may pick up. Consider bringing along a windbreaker or a light jacket to stay warm if the temperature drops or if there's a breeze on the water.
Hat and sunglasses: Protect your head and eyes from the sun's glare with a hat and sunglasses. A hat with a brim will also help keep the sun off your face and neck.
Dry bag: Consider bringing a dry bag to keep your belongings safe and dry while you're on the water. This is especially important if you plan to bring items like your phone, camera, or extra clothing.
Layering: Since weather conditions can vary, especially near water, it's a good idea to dress in layers. This allows you to adjust your clothing according to temperature changes throughout your kayak trip.
Avoid bulky clothing: Bulky clothing can restrict your movement and become uncomfortable when wet. Stick to lightweight, non-restrictive clothing for ease of movement while paddling.
Risk: It is important to understand that this event involves risks such as physical exertion, natural elements, and wildlife encounters.
