The Alaska Jazz Workshop (AJW) will present two great Jazz Fighting Hunger concerts on March 21 and May 23, 2026 to support the Food Bank of Alaska, one of Alaska’s most important community resources.The concerts will feature an exciting mix of musicians from the rich, diverse Anchorage Jazz Community gathering together to share their love and joy of performing America’s original music Jazz with their audience members. The concerts show the power music has for developing good community connection, awareness, and mental health. These concerts are a continuation of the original Jazz Fighting Hunger Concerts founded by past Anchorage Jazz bassist and community leader Ray Booker in the September 1997 to support the Food Bank of Alaska’s. Ray staged eighteen concerts between 1997-2015 raising over $150,000 for the Food Bank of Alaska.

March 21-AJW Faculty Sextet & the Advanced Student Jazz Ensemble
May 23-Anchorage Jazz All Stars including: John Damberg, Melissa Fischer, Nick Petumenos, Jacques Annandale, Mark Manners, Tom Bargelski, Pat Owens, Dirk Westfall, Ed Ulman, Bob Andrews, Jessica De Silva, Gunnar Hanson, Eiden Pospisil,
AJW Community Jazz Session Jammers including: Corwyn Wilkie, Anan Siackhasone, Vernon Lindemuth, Quentin Schenk, Tyler Wood, Owen Engebretson, and Issac Zamora.
