About this Event
Course Description
An overview of sleep disordered breathing and what the dental team can do about it. We start with the basics: sleep, dental appliances, and the critical role nasal function has in respiration.
We’ll discuss how to work with sleep physicians, medical insurance interaction, AND the "ABCs" of marketing. Then we go a bit beyond the basics: complications, titration and follow-up testing, and team development.

Learning Objectives
- Collaborate with sleep physicians and develop a team understanding of sleep and how to contribute to overall health in a dental practice
- Communicate the medical consequences of untreated SDB (Sleep Disordered Breathing) to patients
- Apply basic appliance therapy to qualified patients
- Improve health in many patients with an emphasis on nose breathing

Speaker:
Dr. Steve Carstensen is an educational consultant and the Director of Clinical Education for Airway Technologies. Since 2011, he has designed sleep courses, given keynotes, and lectured exclusively on sleep & sleep-related breathing disorders.
