About this Event
FOD you say?
That piece of paper that might fly away, a piece of rubbish that you might accidentally see fly off, or even a piece of food dropped around an Airport could become FOD [Foreign Object Debris]. It could then result in aircraft engines damaged if ingested, aircraft tyres cut, getting lodged in aircraft mechanisms preventing them from operating properly, or could even see people injured after the FOD is propelled by a jet blast or prop wash!
Join us for a unique opportunity to go "airside" [no ASIC required!] for our annual FOD Walk.
On arrival you'll be presented with hi-vis and assigned a Visitor Identification Card [VIC] by our aviation team, then escorted onto the other side of the Airport fence where we'll explore the topic of FOD and how it applies to the safety of our airport.
We'd like to remind you please to ensure that anything you carry with you 'airside' is fully secured to your body or within a secure bag, to ensure it doesn't become FOD. Please also ensure you wear sturdy shoes and ensure you bring along photo ID. We appreciate you helping us maintain our excellent safety standards.
Places are FREE, yet limited, so make sure you register today!
