Are you aged between 12 years old (year 8 at school) and 18?RAF Air Cadets – More Than Just a Uniform!
As a proud part of the RAF Air Cadets, you’ll wear the uniform with pride — but that’s just the start. Here's a taste of the world you'll step into:
✈️ Air
Experience real flying and gliding in RAF aircraft, explore drone operations, and even work toward solo flight training.
🛰️ Space
Dive into the world of space tech, satellites, and rocketry, with real insight into RAF and defence industry capabilities.
💻 Cyber
Get hands-on with coding, cyber security — ideal for future tech and defence leaders.
🛠️ Skills Development
Take part in sports, music, first aid, radio comms, road marching, and ceremonial drill. Work towards The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, supported by expert trainers.
🎒 Adventure Training
Visit specialist activity centres across the UK for rock climbing, high ropes, mountain biking, canoeing, sailing, and more.
🎖️ Military Insight
Learn fieldcraft, survival, and shooting. Attend UK & overseas camps, visit RAF and Armed Forces units, and take part in International Air Cadet Exchanges.
📚 Further Education
Gain BTEC diplomas in teamwork, leadership, and music. Also earn ILM leadership qualifications — nationally recognised!
💡 Skills for Life
Whether you stay for 6 months or 6 years, the confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills you gain will last a lifetime.
🚀 You’ll start with basic training and gradually build your confidence and experience. There’s a place for everyone — no matter your background or ability.

We will be holding an open evening to showcase who we are and what a typical evening may look like if you were to join. There is no commitment if you don’t like it that is completely fine as cadets isn’t for everyone.
