AIDS in KC Remembrance Project
The purpose of the AIDS in KC series has always been to honor those we lost, those who survived and to document the history for those who come after. If you wish, share the name of a friend or loved one who passed due to complications of HIV/AIDS so we can honor them at the event.
About the Film
The four-part film explores the epidemic's early days and the present-day organizers working to eliminate infections and stigma in our communities. This June, Kansas City PBS will premiere two new chapters of the series.
Set between 1992 and 2000, “On Our Way” showcases organizers rallying troops to fight against HIV/AIDS. Local efforts like SAVE Inc., the AIDS Service Foundation and AIDS Walk combat the spread of the virus by raising awareness and advocating for HIV/ AIDS education, testing and treatment.
“Getting to Zero,” the final episode of the series, follows individuals currently navigating the complexities of living with HIV/AIDS and the local organizers aiming for a future of zero new infections, deaths or discrimination.
Watch all four parts of AIDS in KC on Kansas City PBS Channel 19.1 on Thursday, June 27, at 7 p.m. To learn more about the series, visit .
