Join us on Thursday evening September 26th to get stoked for the winter! We will be presenting on the differences between various backcountry educational courses this winter. Thinking about starting into the backcountry & wondering where you should start? This is the talk for you! As beginners into this environment, we can often be misled into taking a course that isn't best suited to our specific needs. By attending this talk, you will be best informed by professional guides on which course makes the most sense given your goals & current skill set in the winter backcountry. Attending this talk will save you loads of time, effort & stress while getting prepared for the winter!
About our speakers:
-Zack is the 11th AMGA-certified Splitboard Guide in the United States, and has pioneered the splitboard education program for the Mountain Bureau LLC. He guides full time with the Mountain Bureau throughout Washington & is their lead operational forecaster, works with NWAC on providing avalanche awareness courses & pro observations, & is an ambassador for mountain safety education. He has been teaching avalanche education for nearly 10 years in Canada & the western US, and also works full-time as the snow safety director & a lead guide at Alaska Heliskiing in Haines, AK each spring.
