*Withdrawals from AIA Detroit's Investment Fund are put to a vote and decided by the membership. If you are not an AIA Member, you can still attend, but you won't be able to vote.*
This open forum will provide a transparent update on the organization’s current financial position, including an overview of our investment fund and its performance. More importantly, it will create space for meaningful dialogue around how the annual yield from this fund can best support our chapter’s priorities—whether through programming, committee initiatives, or new strategic opportunities.

ABOUT THE INVESTMENT FUND:
As part of the conversation, we’ll review AIA Detroit’s Investment Spending Policy in clear terms. Each year, following the close of the fiscal cycle on October 31, the fund’s value is assessed using a three-year rolling average. Based on this, up to 5% of the fund is made available annually to support the following year’s operations, as directed by the Board. These funds help sustain ongoing committee work, special projects, and core organizational needs. While the fund is intended for long-term stability, larger withdrawals of principal may occur when necessary—though they are capped at 20% annually unless a higher amount is approved by a full membership vote in accordance with the AIA Detroit By-Laws.
