Washington, D.C.'s fast-developing North of Massachusetts Avenue (NoMA) neighborhood has witnessed a remarkable 37% increase in multifamily residential units over the past few years. In contrast, Northwest One—a neighborhood shaped by urban renewal and now a part of the District's New Communities Initiative—is displacing low-income residents.
This thought-provoking, full-day symposium and tour will examine NoMA's accomplishments, including recent or planned additions that will yield a 58% surge in residential stock. NoMA will serve as a jumping-off point for a discussion of the Northwest One redevelopment led by notable women-led architecture firms such as Chloethiel Woodward Smith, Hickok Cole, and Sorg Architects.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
