AI, Robotics & Transhumanism

You are invited to join this seminary lecture on 11th June 2026 discussing one of societal challenges for the church. This lecture is intended for pastors and those preparing for ministry, but others may be interested and welcome to join us.

We live at a time of great technological advance, especially in the areas of AI and robotics. Is AI a wonderful tool which will lead to extraordinary advances in human understanding, or a grave threat to the world and humanity? Will robots become our servants, or our masters? Can technology enable us to overcome our human frailties, and even death itself?

Jeremy Peckham, the author of Masters or Slaves? AI And The Future Of Humanity (IVP, 2021), will help us to understand these new technologies and give us principles for a Christian response.

The format of the day will go as follows :

• 9:45 am - Tea/Coffee
• 10:00 am – arrival
• 10:20 am – 1:00 pm (lectures with a break)
• 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (lunch*)
• 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm ( lectures with a break)
