AI, Innovation, the Future of Careers: Competing in the Global Economy
About this Event
AI is changing what industries look like, what skills matter, and how careers are built. The nations — and the people — who understand this shift will be the ones who shape it.
Join WADSIH for an evening keynote with Stephen Ezell, Vice President for Global Innovation Policy at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) in Washington, D.C. Stephen advises governments and industry worldwide on national competitiveness, innovation policy, trade, and critical and emerging technologies. He is the co-author of Innovation Economics: The Race for Global Advantage (Yale) and Innovating in a Service-Driven Economy (Palgrave Macmillan).
In this session, Stephen will explore how AI and emerging technologies are redrawing the global innovation map — and what it means for Western Australia's economy, its industries, and the careers of the people who work in them. Expect a candid, internationally-informed perspective on where the opportunities are, where the risks lie, and how WA can position itself to compete.
The evening includes:
- A welcome from WADSIH Director Alex Jenkins
- A 45-minute keynote from Stephen Ezell, followed by live audience Q&A
- Networking with peers from across WA's government, industry, academic and startup communities, over refreshments
