AI Horizons 2030: The Readiness Problem
About this Event
AI Horizons 2030: The Readiness Problem
Only one in five insurers is structurally ready to run AI agents in production. Pilots don’t scale... BUT operating models do. So what do the other four do?
On the kickoff afternoon of ITC Vegas 2026, Alchemy Crew Ventures, Allstate, IAG Firemark Ventures, Majesco, SAS & InfiniteWatch convene approximately 50-60 senior leaders (insurer and reinsurer executives, CVC and institutional investors, broker and MGA leadership, and a curated cohort of AI-native founders) for an invitation-only working summit on the decision that will define the next decade: not whether to deploy agents, but what operating model runs them.
What happens in the room. One opening provocation. One investor panel on where operating-model value will concentrate by 2030, featuring some of the most respected CVCs in our industry. A first public look at preliminary results from the Frontier Insurer Index, the readiness benchmark developed by Majesco, Alchemy Crew Ventures with Bayes Business School. A WTW market lens on agentic distribution and the platform play. Four scaleups showing what already works in production. A hard look at trustworthy AI as an operating-model property with SAS. Then the afternoon converges: your table completes its Frontier Insurer Operating Model Canvas, and you leave with your own version of it.
What you will leave with. A benchmark position against the Frontier Insurer Index. A roundtable-style completed Operating Model Canvas: your table’s answers, in writing. Peer intelligence you cannot buy, shared candidly under the Chatham House Rule. And one concrete operating-model move to make before Q1 2027. We will ask you for it and hold the room for it.
Agenda
🕑: 01:30 PM - 02:00 PM
Arrival: The First Provocation
Info: Coffee, light refreshments and the ability to meet your peers in the room before the event starts. One question for you to consider: what stands between your AI pilots and production? Legacy? Governance? Talent? Arrive with opinions. The room is already listening to your answers.
🕑: 02:00 PM - 02:10 PM
Opening: The Other Four…
Host: Sabine VanderLinden
Info: We open the afternoon with our first claim: only one in five insurers is structurally ready for agents, and the other four are not doomed; they are undecided. The constraint has moved from AI capability to operating-model architecture. It is time to evaluate your own readiness.
🕑: 02:10 PM - 02:35 PM
Investor Lens: The Capital Bet. Retrofit the Incumbent or Back the Challenger?
Host: Allstate
Info: The capital allocators go first. If agentic commerce reaches even the low end of McKinsey’s US$3–5 trillion projection, where does value accrue: proprietary data, distribution access, orchestration architecture, or people? Four investors set out what they fund, what they avoid, and how they spot agent washing. The room votes; the panel responds.
🕑: 02:35 PM - 02:55 PM
Research Reveal: One in Five. The Numbers Behind the Claim
Host: Denise Garth, CSO, Majesco
Info: A first public look at preliminary findings from the Frontier Insurer Index, built by Majesco, Alchemy Crew Ventures with Bayes Business School. Two axes: how capable your people are with agents, and whether your organization is built to use them. You predict the numbers before Denise reveals them. The gap shapes the story.
🕑: 02:55 PM - 03:10 PM
Market Lens: When the Agent Becomes the Channel
Host: Magdalena Ramada Sarasola
Info: When agents become the channel, distribution stops being a function and becomes an architecture. Magda shares what WTW sees in the field: agentic distribution taking shape, product innovation integrated into the operating model rather than bolted on, and platforms enhanced so agents can discover, quote and transact.
🕑: 03:10 PM - 03:35 PM
Scaleup Showcase: Proof, Not Pilots. Four Ventures Working the Three Frontiers
Host: WaniWani
Info: Four AI-native scaleups, each mapped to one frontier: not pitching, demonstrating. What does distribution look like when an external agent can transact? What does an agent-native product actually ship like? Who industrializes the messy middle? You vote on which frontier is hardest in your organization; your answer seeds the working session.
🕑: 03:35 PM - 03:55 PM
Trust by Design: When the Regulator (or a Customer’s Agent) Comes Asking
Host: Franklin Manchester, Global Insurance Advisor, SAS
Info: Responsible AI is a policy; trustworthy AI is an operating-model property: per-task permissioning, end-to-end auditability, a licensed human authorizing at bind. Franklin examines where the industry’s governance actually stands and why trust built in by design is becoming a commercial advantage. The pulse-check is blunt: who owns AI trust today?
🕑: 03:55 PM - 04:25 PM
Working Session: Decoding Your Frontier Insurer Operating Model
Info: The afternoon converges. Each table completes the Frontier Insurer Operating Model Canvas. Three questions, one per frontier: what breaks first when agents become your channel, which product you would re-architect first, and what expertise walks out the door within 24 months. The answer to your problem sits at your table, wearing a different badge.
🕑: 04:25 PM - 04:45 PM
The Verdict: “Pilots Don’t Scale, Operating Models Do”
Info: Table insights harvested live. The readiness score re-run, and the delta from 2:00 pm examined honestly. Every table logs one operating-model move to make before Q1 2027, in its own words. The verdict the room argues its way to becomes the headline of the post-event report every participant receives.
🕑: 04:45 PM - 05:00 PM
Q&A & Networking Before Receptions
Info: The conversations the canvas started tend to finish here. One last chat before the launch parties begin, and the introductions that make the next twelve months move faster.
