How would you feel about a data center being built nearby?
AI touches us in many ways every day. As AI capabilities continue to advance, it might affect us in more ways than we thought possible. If AI involves all of us, then we should all have a say in where it goes. We’ll take a look at the buildings that power AI, why people across the country are pushing back on them, and discuss what that means for us and our community.
Join us for an open discussion on the AI data center boom.

Program Format and Information
We will watch two short videos about the AI data center boom (a news report on the growing local backlash and an explainer connecting it to the race toward superintelligence), followed by a facilitated group discussion exploring what that means for our community, safety, and future.
To the best of our knowledge, there are no current plans for data center construction in Woodford County, and state and local governments in Illinois are taking steps to slow down or curtail future data center construction. The purpose of this program is to analyze recent data center development nationwide and examine where AI may be headed.
Registration is requested for this program.
