WHO SHOULD ATTEND? EVERYONE!
All Hands on Deck (AHOD) needs to hear from ALL voices to craft a long-lasting, community-encompassing solution to chronic homelessness. Whether you know a little or a lot (or nothing at all) about homelessness, you belong in this conversation.
We’re excited to invite you to a community engagement session where we’ll share more about All Hands on Deck (AHOD), our bold initiative to end chronic homelessness in Topeka/Shawnee county by 2030. This session will provide an in-depth look at AHOD, including:
* An overview of the initiative and its mission
* A review of our game plan and recommended next steps
* An introduction to key stakeholders driving this effort
* Opportunities for community involvement and ways to make an impact
* Position descriptions for those wanting to join the team
* An outline of our communication system
All Hands on Deck, the Campaign to End Chronic Homelessness in Topeka and Shawnee County by 2030, is led by United Way of Kaw Valley and Compassion Strategies.
The All Hands on Deck Campaign to End Chronic Homelessness by 2030 comprises a multi-sector coalition of teams led by the Campaign’s “quarterbacks and assistant quarterbacks” under the guidance of “coaches.” A strategic development team guides the work of the coalition, vetting interventions and approaches while listening carefully to feedback from the community through the sector teams.
WHY
The multi-sector coalition led by United Way of Kaw Valley and Compassion Strategies is conducting listening sessions with community members as a key part of efforts to end chronic homelessness in Topeka and Shawnee County. Deep community engagement and ownership of the eventual solutions are essential to the success of the Campaign. The first engagement session was held in December 2024.
We value your input and engagement in making this vision a reality. Together, we can create a community where everyone has access to safe and stable housing options. Please feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested in learning more. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to make a lasting difference!
