Ahmed and the Creators are seasoned masters of classic jazz, often hailed as purists for their unwavering dedication to the genre's foundations. Their set will feature timeless standards from legends like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and Mongo Santamaria.
Ahmed Abdulkarim has been performing music his entire life. He began on the piano, and then moved around from the bugle to the trombone before finally settling on the trumpet in 1956. Trumpet jazz is where he truly found his voice. Ahmed studied under Manny Laureano of the Minnesota Symphony and has performed at legendary venues including First Ave, The Dakota, and The Stand in NYC.
