All who are interested are welcome to attend this valuable resource. Sessions will include:
Partnerships and Education Resources for 1890s and Underserved Communities—providing information on fostering opportunity, wealth creation, and asset building in rural and underserved communities. Facilitator: Herbert Brown Jr., USDA Liaison for Office of Partnerships & Public Engagement, USDA at Virginia State University
Grants and Resources for Farmers, Producers, and Rural Americans—Value Added Producer Grants and Rural Energy for America Program. Facilitators will include Perry Hickman, Virginia State Director, Rural Development, USDA, Joe Boatwright, Virginia Rural Business and Cooperative Services Director, and Tracey Krespach, Virginia Energy Coordinator and Loan Specialist.
Urban Agriculture. Dr. Ronald M. Howell, Jr., State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency.
Local and regional partners will be on hand to provide additional information and resources, including Virginia Cooperative Extension, Soil & Water Conservation District, local Master Gardener units, Farm Bureau, Farm Credit, Department of Conservation and Recreation, USDA NRCS, and more.
