“AGRIBIZ”- Inter University ‘Agro-based blended’ business case and idea competition

Critical thinking & problem solving are the two most important 21st-century skills for a successful career. Critical thinking skills allow youth to understand and address situations based on all available facts and information. In this present unprecedented condition of our earth and the alarming situation of our agricultural sector, it is time to focus on innovative sustainable farming systems. To make our cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable, only young minds unit engagement can stipulate. Climate resilience and nature-based, low-carbon sustainable development; manage healthy, safe, and nutritious food; unprecedent global hunger crisis- those are the major alarming issue of this 4th industrial era. Students, therefore the youths can find out the probable solution to using their conceptualizing reasoning thinking.
Future innovation in the agriculture sector will require participation of bright youth minds in this industry. SAUEDC arranged its ‘Intra-University’ flagship competition virtually during the covid-19 period on April 2021. To find the sound frontrunners in this sector, SAUEDC is going to arrange inter university ‘Agro-based blended’ business and idea case competition “AGRIBIZ”.
Agriculture is the largest employment sector in Bangladesh, making up 11.68 percent of Bangladesh's GDP in 2021 and employing about 48.4 percent of the workforce. Although our agriculture sector has come a long way, still we have to overcome a lot of challenges. So we badly need researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and agricultural professionals. We need innovation in agricultural production, marketing, storage, supply chain, storage and many more. We need young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs to create products and for the farmers and consumers of different economic classes. We need great thinkers. We need people who execute what they have thought of. We need to apply technology and industrialize our agricultural sector. Not only that, we have to think of our environment and preserve it.
SAU Entrepreneurship Development Club (SAUEDC), focused on Youth development with a confident goal. SAUEDC emphasizes students for preparing for the upcoming challenging future in a national and global context. As an organization, SAUEDC engages youth for this new era of technology with sustainable inclusive industrialization and foster innovation especially in the agriculture sector.
The objective of this mega-event is:
✅ To help non-agricultural students to engage and think more about zero hunger, nutritious food & sustainable agriculture.

✅ To know Importance of changes in technology, industries, and processes in the agriculture sector.

✅ To help students take action innovatively in present agriculture conditions

✅ To address sustainable consumption & production pattern problems.
Eligibility:
✅ Students of all public and private Universities.
✅Undergraduate students.
✅ Graduate students passing not before 2019
✅The teams can comprise of 3-4 members. All the team members of a team must be from the same universities and from same or different departments.
✅Having enthusiasm for "Agro based" ideas or startups.

Registration Starts: The online registration of our flagship event "AgriBiz" starts on 23rd December, 2022. ⏳
Registration Deadline: Registration will be closed on 19th January, 2023. ⌛
▶️First Round Workshop: Our first round workshop program will take place prior to our first round program on 19th January, 2023.
✅ First Round: The first round of "Agribiz" case competition will be extended from 20th to the 25th January of 2023.
▶️ Semi-final round Workshop: After the completion of the first round, the semi-final round will kick-start by arranging a workshop before that on 29th January, 2023.
✅Semi-final Round: The semi-final round of "Agribiz" idea competition will be held from 30th January to 5th of February, 2023
? Grand Finale : And the most cherished and desired final of "Agribiz" 2023 business idea competition will take place on Saturday, 18th February, 2023. (Tentative Date)
The venue of the final is ASVM Seminar Room, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Agargaon, Dhaka.
