Agitations: 16mm Film Screening

Join us for an evening of live 16mm projections featuring work from a range of Glasgow-based students, artists and filmmakers.
About this Event

This screening marks the end of our analogue filmmaking workshop led by James with participants presenting films made during the programme alongside works by artists and filmmakers (soon to be announced). Many of these films have rarely, if ever, been publicly screened before, celebrating the experimentation and discovery intrinsic to working with celluloid. Each film will be shown in its original 16mm format, projected live by James on a 16mm projector.

agitations is a new film club for moving-image screenings and workshops, inspired by analogue filmmaking techniques. In film processing, agitation renews the image by moving fresh chemistry across the emulsion and replacing exhausted developer. Inspired by this process, agitations explores analogue cinema and experimental moving image practice through the creative possibilities hidden within such tools and techniques.
