About this Event
Join your Pittsburgh Park Rangers for an age 50+ guided hike series featuring the City of Pittsburgh’s Regional Parks! All hikes are the first Thursday of each month lasting from 10:30AM-12PM. This hike series will focus on shorter hikes (under 2 miles) for beginner hikers. All hikes will be a slow-to-light pace with few stopping points throughout! Participants are urged to wear closed toe shoes, sunscreen, and pack a water bottle for this hike series. Registration is not required but recommended for updates and cancellations due to inclement weather. Registration for all hikes open on March 1st!
Join Frick Park Rangers for a gradual walk around Frick Park wetlands. Meet in the lower Frick Park Parking Lot (Use nearest residential address of 1027 Lancaster Ave and proceed down the hill to the parking lot). This hike will be focused on the historical Nine Mile Run wetland restoration. This hike will occur on different terrains including gravel, boardwalks, and pavement. This hike will be under 1.5 miles long. Please be prepared for potentially slippery surfaces and a very slight incline. A port-a-john will be available on site however a water fountain will not.
