About this Event

Aiskhylos's AGAMEMNON
translation by Anne Carson

18, 19, 20 May 2023
Leckhampton House*, entrance at 7 Selwyn Gardens

Mired in stasis, a country awaits the return of its King - and a reckoning over a decade-old sacrifice. Anne Carson's striking translation of Aiskhylos's AGAMEMNON stages the clash of the contemporary and arcane, and in the night air against the backdrop of Leckhampton House's 1880s facade, Klytaimestra attempts at last to excise the family's curse of violence against its children.
