As you may have heard, Afterword Tavern & Shelves was forced to turn the page at the end of January—with the building sold out from under them just as they were being celebrated with multiple Best of KC awards. Timing can be cruel like that. This is not the end of the series, though!
The next chapter continues in a temporary home just down the street. Grinders has gracefully offered to host until Afterword has a new home! We'll be in the West room, a more private corner that we will have to ourselves with a kitchen and bar!
We will keep the story going in a new temporary location. We've been rocking the mic for over a year now, and we won't let something like a change of venue stop us!
Please join us for our monthly mostly-spoken-word open mic at Grinders. If you’ve ever been in the room for one of our open mic nights, you know: it's magic. Poetry, prose, comedy, and music combine to create community with friends. You never know what you're going to find second Mondays at the Afterword Open Mic!
Monday, Feb. 9, we gather for the first night in our temporary home for PIZZA, Burgers, Sammies, Apps, Wings, drinks, and did I say, PIZZA!! Get there early to get your dinner on and grab the best seats.
List opens at 6:30 PM
Program begins at 7 PM
We’ll go until 9 PM… and out by 10.
