January Afterschool Adventures at Chilton Public Library Start the new year with cozy creativity, hands-on fun, and a little bit of winter magic! Afterschool Adventures return in January with three Wednesday programs designed especially for students in grades 3–5. All programs begin at 1:30 PM, and snacks and supplies are provided. (younger ages welcome with sibling or adult partner)
Wednesday, January 14 – Hot Cocoa Flavor Lab
Warm up with a delicious experiment! Kids will explore different cocoa mix-ins, create their own flavor combinations, and rate their favorites as junior cocoa scientists. From classic cozy to bold and surprising, we’ll discover what makes the perfect winter cup.
Wednesday, January 21 – Arctic Lanterns
Get creative with a calm, winter-inspired art project. Participants will design glowing lanterns using jars, tissue paper, and silhouettes inspired by snowy landscapes and winter nights. Each lantern includes a flameless tealight to take home and brighten the season.
Wednesday, January 28 – Books, Cocoa & Vision Boards
Settle in for a cozy afternoon of reading and reflection. Kids will share what they’re reading, enjoy hot cocoa, and create mini vision boards or bookmarks focused on goals, interests, and books they want to explore in 2026.
