This summer, Blackburn Cathedral invites you to experience a traditional Afternoon Tea served at The Table for the Nation – a stunning, handcrafted 13m table made from 5,000 year old ancient Fenland Black Oak.

Friends, families and guests can come together to enjoy exceptional food in a truly unique setting. Set within the magnificent surroundings of one of the region's most iconic buildings, this truly is afternoon tea with a difference.

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, catching up with friends, treating a loved one or simply looking for something special to enjoy this summer, Afternoon Tea at The Table for the Nation offers the perfect opportunity to relax, indulge and enjoy a truly unique experience.

Your Afternoon Tea

Each beautifully presented afternoon tea (1 afternoon tea stand will be created for 2 people) will include:

• Four freshly prepared finger sandwiches per person
• Homemade sausage roll
• Savoury quiche
• A selection of freshly made cakes and sweet treats
• A traditional fruit scone served with strawberry jam and clotted cream
• Unlimited tea and freshly brewed filter coffee

Everything is freshly prepared by the Cathedral's catering team using quality ingredients and served on elegant afternoon tea stands.

Upgrade to add a 200ml bottle of Prosecco for £7 per person.

A Shared Experience

Unlike a traditional afternoon tea, guests will be seated together around The Table for the Nation.

Created to encourage conversation, connection and community, this is a unique opportunity for people from all walks of life to share an experience around a remarkable piece of the nation's heritage.

Couples and groups will be seated together whilst sharing the wider table with fellow guests, creating an atmosphere that is relaxed, welcoming and distinctly different from a traditional restaurant setting.
