About this Event

A Conversation on Death, Culture, and the Stories We Leave Behind

Join an archaeologist, researcher, and academicfor Let’s Talk About Death: What Ancient Burials Can Teach Us, a fascinating exploration of how civilizations across time have honored the dead and what burial practices reveal about the people who came before us. From elaborate tombs and sacred rituals to everyday acts of remembrance, ancient burials offer a powerful window into humanity’s beliefs, values, and relationship with mortality.

Together, we’ll uncover the meaning behind some of the world’s most intriguing burial traditions and explore what they tell us about identity, family, spirituality, and society. We’ll discuss how ancient cultures approached death, why certain rituals endured for generations, what archaeologists can learn from burial sites, and how these discoveries continue to shape our understanding of human history. Along the way, we’ll examine the objects, symbols, and customs that help us piece together the stories of lives lived thousands of years ago.

This is not a conversation about death as an ending. It’s a thought-provoking exploration of death as a reflection of life. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a curious learner, a lover of anthropology, or simply someone interested in the traditions that connect us across generations, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for how ancient burials reveal what humans have always valued, feared, and remembered.
