About this Event

A Conversation on Procrastination, Perfectionism, and the Nervous System

Join a counseling psychology professor and neurodiversity-affirming practice founder for The Neuroscience of Procrastination & Perfectionism, an engaging exploration of why getting started, and getting finished, is rarely just about willpower. Together, we’ll uncover how your nervous system influences your ability to take action and why high achievers so often find themselves stuck. From the late-night to-do lists to the projects that never feel good enough, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the science behind productivity, stress, and everything in between.

What We'll Cover:
  • Why it isn’t just discipline - Explore why procrastination and perfectionism are about more than motivation or character.
  • Why high achievers get stuck - Learn how nervous system regulation and executive functioning shape our ability to act, even for the most driven among us.
  • Building a sustainable relationship with productivity - Discover how cultivating nervous system health can support healthier, more lasting ways of getting things done.

Whether you’re a self-described perfectionist, a lifelong procrastinator, or simply wondering why you can plan every detail but still struggle to begin, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for what’s really happening beneath the surface.

Don't miss this chance to connect with your After5Society.
