After5Chicago - The Relationship Blueprint: The Psychology of Manipulation
About this Event
A Conversation on Power Dynamics, Persuasion, and Emotional Intelligence
Join a licensed clinical social worker, professor, and therapist for The Relationship Blueprint: The Psychology of Manipulation, an eye-opening exploration of the psychological tactics that shape unhealthy relationship dynamics. Why do some relationships leave us feeling empowered while others leave us questioning ourselves? This talk will examine common forms of manipulation—including gaslighting, guilt, love bombing, and emotional control—and explain why these behaviors can be so difficult to recognize while they're happening.
This is not your typical relationship talk. Through insights from psychology and real-world examples, you'll learn how manipulation influences our thoughts, emotions, and decision-making, as well as the warning signs of unhealthy patterns. Whether you're looking to better understand past relationships, strengthen your current ones, or simply become more aware of interpersonal dynamics, this session will leave you with practical tools to recognize manipulation, establish healthier boundaries, and build stronger, more authentic connections.
Don't miss this chance to connect with your After5Society.
